STPI has been providing Statutory Services on a single window clearance mechanism from various STPI Centres spread across the country under the following schemes right from inception:

Tamil Nadu Advantage:

Tamil Nadu is the 2nd largest State Economy in India and bigger than Vietnam, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, New Zealand. Tamil Nadu is known as the Automobile Capital of India,Manchester of South India the “Yarn Bowl of India.

Between 2011-12 and 2018-19, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) expanded at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 11.46 per cent to Rs 16.06 trillion (US$ 222.58 billion) whereas the Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) expanded at a CAGR of 11.45 per cent to Rs 14.41 trillion (US$ 199.69 billion).

As of July 2019, the state had a total installed power generation capacity of 31.53 GW.

According to the DPIIT, cumulative FDI inflows in Tamil Nadu during April 2000 to June 2019 stood at US$ 30.69 billion. Total merchandise exports from the state stood at US$ 30.52 billion during April 2018- March 2019. As of March 2019, IT ITeS exports from Tamil Nadu have increased to Rs 1.39 lakh crore (US$ 19.9 billion) in 2018-19, at a growth rate of 10 per cent year-on-year.

The state government is planning to make Tamil Nadu a global SaaS hub. Tamil Nadu to get 6-8 lane expressways of 2000 km, 4 lane highways of 5000 km and all the highways to be double lane along with paved shoulders.

The Tamil Nadu Government is implementing the Green Energy Corridor Project at estimated cost of US$ 247.25 billion for improving the transmission infrastructure in the state. As per budget 2018-19, US$ 39.88 million have been allocated for this project.

Tamil Nadu ranks 1st in terms of domestic tourist arrivals and 2nd in terms of foreign tourist arrival as of 2017.

During September - March 2018, 46,50,100 formal jobs were created in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai is consistently ranked amongst the top 6 “Most Pocket Friendly Cities in India by the Economic Intelligence Unit

Chennai has been ranked as the city having lowest cost of living in the world as per “Numbeo Cost of Living Index 2018. Chennai is ranked as the 2nd best Metro City in terms of Ease of Living Index and is also a part of 3 important Industrial Corridors of Government of India:

There are three major ports at Chennai, Kamarajar (Ennore) and VOC (Thoothukudi); ~5 million TEU capacity in Chennai port cluster. Chennai and Kamarajar also serve as auto export hubs.

Abundant availability of skilled manpower at competitive wage costs. Tamil Nadu is the largest producer of skilled manpower in India with an annual turn-out of more than 1.0 million Graduates (Engineering, Arts Science), Diploma holders and ITI workers.
